Little overdue, but better late than never.....

Jason came down to the shop recently to finalize some of the details for the rendering he is doing of the Challenger...

Perfect weather for a 2.5 hour drive.......

www.jasonrushforth.com Can't wait to post the final draft Smile the fender, Baer Brakes, and tires were mocked up again. Here are a couple pics....

The driver's door had some creases, dings, etc. that needed some attention. Still more work to do... (on the fender as well obviously)

The roof also needed help... Someone or something sat across the roof- leaving eyebrow shaped creases. A previous owner painted the car, but the dents were filled with bondo... The roof looks 100 times better after some hammer and dolly work.

Looking at the 15" two-piece BAER rotors from the back side....

I can't say enough good things about the brakes. The quality and precision is top notch. The 6 piston 6S calipers are machined from a single piece of aluminum and the anodized coating is the icing on the cake! Baer's customer service is unbelievable as well. They have gone above and beyond our expectations and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for high performance brakes!

I can't wait to see it on the ground. The top of the roof will be ~49" off the ground at ride height... Can't really get that visual while the car is still on the frame fixture....

More of the rear-

When I saw the transmission tunnel fabrication I just started laughing. Not because of any design or anything like that but just imagining how dumped in the weeds this car is going to be.

How much was the drivetrain moved up into the car overall?

Also since he cut the unibody out of the vehicle how do you compensate for body flex, such as at speed fluctuations or cornering does it stand a chance of tapping the cage work or do you put standoffs to correct for this?

tacked in- Mopar Performance Starter & flywheel

The Quicktime bellhousing doesn't locate the starter in the exact location. The mid plate is more precise and a nose cone support is in the plans as well....

I can't really give you an exact measurement on the drivetrain Q because there is nothing factory left. I could measure up from the door jam, but it wouldn't mean a whole lot.

The rear trans and differential are a pretty high to begin with in a stock 2004 C5 vette. The tunnel would be even higher if we were using the stock corvette torque tube. The tunnel feels pretty good when we mocked up the shifter height.

We are building the car to drive at this height, with at least 4.5" ground clearance at any given point. The stock 6.1 oil pan isn't permanent.

The crank location of the 6.1 HEMI is located higher than a lot of motors as well. the block has deeper skirts since it is essentially a 6 bolt main block - 4 bolts on the bottom and 2 on the sides. Pretty trick motor.....

Regarding body flex... Yes, the stock unibody structure is gone, but the formed 10guage pieces were added inside the rockers.

Frame/Body/Cage are one structure---- The cage is tied into the upper body structure at multiple points and the lower rails are tied into the double layer frame section. By using a two layer tube perimeter instead of 3x5 box tube, we are able to gain a lot more interior space since the floor and seats will be lower in the car......

I will post pictures up of the firewall to date in a few. The pics should clear up any confusion.

View from the front showing the new firewall location....

A pillar hoop is in as well-

The remaining portion of the stock firewall/cowl area is temporarily tacked into place... A new piece will be made that will seal off the interior.

Amazing, Where are you located? Car looks like its coming along well.

You should run Just 1 Turbo, Less lag and more reliable,More HP. I would not recommend 2 on a v8, The spool time is horrid.

Throw a Garret GT4718R on there and you will be good for 850-1400 hp, If you want to get the car Retarted fast a GT6041 141 mm with a 56 Trim is good for 1400-2000hp.

Before i had my Mustang, I had a 98 toyota Supra TT, We did a single turbo conversion using a T74 single turbo, The entire fuel system upgraded, VPC/SAFC2, G-Force ECU,HKS Drag coilovers ,264 cams, Tuned, we made 744rwhp at 28psi at High boost.

So it just really Depend's on what you want to do and how much money you want to spend making actual power or Look's.

Your Car looks Great though. Hopefully you will go Single Turbo.

We are located in NE Vancouver....

In regards to one turbo or two turbo's - there are a lot of guys running twin turbo V8's with good results.... When the time comes, the turbo's will be mapped out to the size of the motor. Not at that point yet, but I will definitely post up pics when it does Laughing

Have you checked out Nelson Racking engines? They build sick twin-turbo V8's with great results.......

I have Read about Nelson's racing on other Forum's and seen the video's on youtube.

Not sure what you plan is with the Motor build, I hope your not just planning on running that 6.1 SRT8 HEMI Crate motor with the Nelson's racing Turbo kits.

You will be Limited on Horsepower made and how much Boost that stock motor can handle.

The only reason why Nelson's can Brag about there stuff and the turbo kits is because they built everything in house, all the way down to the Block's.

You rarely see a big block 500 + Cubic inch motor making 8:5.1-9:1 Compression like they do. They build the motor's to hold that 1000-2000 hp.
