Rear TJ seat..  Reply with quote

Can someone measure the mounting points for a rear TJ seat? I'm thinking one might fit in the back of the FJ.

Sweeet!

Do you have the mounting hardware as well? Could you put a tape to the attachment points? If I remember right, they are mounted to the side the wheel wells?

Sammy seats mount to the floor. My buddy with the cruiser used a tracker rear seat and it works tits. Not sure if a heep seat is going to work, I *think* its too wide....

That is what I was afraid off. Tracker seat huh? Maybe I need to stop at the wrecking yard to see what they have. I need to get a seat figured out ASAP.

Don't go getting all pitty party yet..I don't know for sure. Razz

But he raised the seat up on a bar mounted to the wheelwells for his daughter to sit on. That left about 6" under it for ammo cans and jerk strap.

So, if the YJ seat fits, that TJ must fit as well. Hmm....

See there ya go boozer! Don't yj and tj seats mount on a different style of hinge? Not that it'd be a biggy to weld a normal hinge to the bar...

Yea I think there is a bar mounted to the seat frame that fits into a sort of hook in the floor on each side. Not a biggy to deal with I'm sure.

Shawn, thanks for the offer on the seat. Not sure when I can make it down there again, but my neighbor goes ALL the time, I will ask him tonight and maybe you can get together?

Also, on the Sammy seat....since they bolt directly to the floor, are they much narrower than the TJ? Could I get two car seats on it?

If you can pull some measurements, and maybe a picture of how both mount that would rock. Thanks Shawn! Cool

but the FJ tub is WAY WIDER than a wrangler.... It'll fit no problem. The YJ Seat fit's with 3+ inches to spare on each side

I also have a rear TJ seat you can have if you ever make it up to the Portland area. I can grab measurements tonight if someone doesn't post them by then.

Thanks for the link!

Looks like a TJ seat will work out best, thanks for the seat offers. Paul might be closest....do you have the brackets to go with and seat belts? If so, I'll drive up and grab it from ya. Let me know!
